Rollout — Privacy Policy

Rollout is a group-ride app: you create or join a ride with a code, and everyone in the group sees each other's live position on the map until the ride ends. This policy explains exactly what data the app handles and why.
Data we collect
- Precise location — collected while you are in an active ride, and shared in real time with the other members of that ride. That sharing is the product's core feature. Live positions are deleted when the ride ends, when you leave it, or when you disconnect.
- Profile — a display name (auto-generated by default), an avatar color, and an optional profile photo you choose to add.
- Ride history — rides you complete (route, distance, time) are stored privately in your account so you can view them later. They are not visible to other users.
- Anonymous account identifier — Rollout signs you in anonymously via Firebase Authentication. We do not collect your name, email address, or phone number.
- Push notification token — used only to notify your ride group (for example, when a ride starts).
What we do NOT do
- No advertising, and no sale of personal data — to anyone, ever.
- No location tracking outside an active ride.
- No background location collection on Android.
Service providers
Rollout runs on Google Firebase (authentication, database, storage, push notifications) and uses TomTom for map tiles and route calculation. Map and routing requests are sent to TomTom with coordinates only — never with your identity or profile.
Data retention & deletion
Delete everything, any time: Settings → “Delete my account & data” inside the app removes your profile, ride history, and any live-location data, and deletes your account.
No app access anymore? Use the data-deletion request page instead.
Live locations are ephemeral (removed at ride end or disconnect). Profile and ride history persist until you delete them or your account.
Children
Rollout is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, the “Last updated” date above will change and the app will point to the new version.
